The Sophron® Network

A deep dive with professionals

The Sophron® Network

Conversations with the leaders, builders, and thinkers shaping global financial markets.

The Sophron® Network is a network for people interested in financial markets, innovation, and technology. The podcast is its home: each episode is a deep dive with a practitioner, a researcher, or a builder, covering quantitative trading, market structure, derivatives, risk, and the growing role of AI in finance.

Past guests include Lionel Martellini of EDHEC, Yves Hilpisch, Marc Ostwald, Jean-Philippe Bouchaud, and Daniel Duffy. The show is recorded between Amsterdam and wherever our guests happen to be in the world, and every episode is paired with a written article.

It is an initiative by Sophron®.

How the show works

Every episode pairs the hosts with a guest for an honest, technical conversation, then goes out on video and audio for anyone who wants to go deeper.

An episode of The Sophron Network with Nihar Jani, Arnav Sathe, guest Lionel Martellini, and Vincent Brandsma
With Lionel Martellini of EDHEC Business School, on why passive investing is not as safe as you think.

The hosts

Three econometricians and quants who would rather ask the awkward, technical question than the easy one.
